Anoop Desai International fans post how to cheat to make him winner of Idol 8

Website instructing International Anoop fans how to vote for Anoop Desai outside of the United States. Third most popular site on Google Blogs.
As an American Idol fan many times I look around on different sites that pertain to American Idol. One of those sites is a place called votefortheworst.com. For those who don’t know Votefortheworst.com or VFTW, it is a popular website for people who consider themselves the Anti-Idol site. The people there dissect the American Idol show and have uncovered some dramatic things about some of the contestants and the workings behind one of the countries most popular shows, American Idol. Votefortheworst was the site that discovered the notorious David Hernandez stripper information and this year found the male-on-male Adam Lambert kissing photos.
This weekend I was doing my usual visitation of different American Idol sites and visited the VFTW site. There was a post in the one of threads regarding Anoop Desai. One of the posters there said they found a link to International Anoop Desai supporters advising other overseas contestants on how to cheat and send votes to him. I thought it was some sort of fluke and probably a site that was not visited to often, until I typed in “Anoop Desai” in Google Blogs. I was surprised to find out that the third most viewed blog was an Anoop Desai fan site with clear instructions for International Idol viewers on how to vote for Anoop Desai. The title of the blog was
ANOOP’ RS GLOBAL EXPERIMENT created by someone named Mia R.
Here is the link

The site has instructions how to cheat to keep someone in the comepition who I wrote in an early blog I believe was “Unmarketable” and would not be ‘current’ in today’s music.
Here is what I wrote in an earlier blog:

It is the Revenge of the Nerds all over again. Well Off Suburban kid wants to be R/B Soul singer, has large fan base…but why? Not marketable or commercial.
Anoop is one of those contestants who has a large fan base. A large fan base does not guarantee commercial success. Taylor Hicks and Blake Lewis had large fan bases but after the show that did not transfer into commercial or market success. The Noop-Troop reminds me of the Soul Patrol. Fanatical fans who don’t recall that Anoop did terribly the three times out of the four he has appeared on Idol. His fans and some music critics have raved about Anoop’s “You Were Always On My Mind”, but forget the disaster that was “Beat It” just the week before. They have short term memory. Yet his fanbase is extremely vocal that Anoop is the next coming of Elvis/Kanye/Ne-yo. I believe they need to step back and watch Anoop’s performances without their rose-colored glasses.
Let’s start off with this big question; What type of music would Anoop-dawg do after the show? Fans have said Anoop will do Soul and R/B. They have compared him to Ne-yo and John Legend. Earth to Noop-troopers, Anoop is no Ne-yo or John Legend. Anoop Desai would have limited success in Soul and R/B music. He is not marketable, especially in that genre. So what would that leave him with? Rock, Punk, Country? Yes, there are videos of Anoop singing Barber Shop Quartet or Boyz 2 Men type music. So when was the last time Boyz 2 Men were popular? Decades ago. No young Urban teen or pre-teen that is into Soul and R/B would fall over themselves to put up a poster of Anoop or claim they were in the Noop-troop.
Then there is Anoop’s looks. Anoop looks like a nerd. Like Kevin Covais and red headed John Stevens put together. His hairstyle is outdated like one of those old shows from the 1950s – 60s. His body is oddly shaped and does not look fit. Anoop is 21 years of age, but looks older with his heavy five o’clock shadow and bushy eyebrows that look like they would meet in the center like a ‘unibrow’. He will only look even worse as he ages. Anoop does not have teen idol looks which are important if you want to capture the teen music market. Also Anoop’s dancing is ridiculous and laughable at best. Like a Suburban kid who wants to be Urban. Simon was correct during his horrible rendition of “Beat It”, Anoop is just a plain looking OK karaoke singer. OK karaoke singer does not translate into an American Idol. Anoop also has never written any music or songs.
Because he has a large fanbase, Anoop will have a large ‘fail’ after the show. His fans will try to prove me wrong, but step back and take a real good look and watch the previous Anoop performances besides Country week. One out of four good performances does not make great singer performer.
I was proven right this week when Anoop Desai, who by the way has not been a consistent performer on the show, once again bombed on stage when Anoop tried to do Usher’s “Caught Up”. It was a complete disaster. The judges called Anoop a “wannabe” which I completely agree. Anoop said after his song that his goal is to be a R/B recording performer-singer after the Idol tour is over.
Bottom line, Mr. Anoop Desai, sir, you are no R/B artist.
R/B artists are Ne-yo, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Rihanna, T-Pain and Akon. Anoop is not like any of them. There is not one similarity to any of the top R/B singers and Anoop Desai.
R/B comes from Blues and Gospel. Many R/B songs come from the African American experience they suffered in the early times when they faced hardship. The performers I mentioned who are true current R/B artists, besides being great singers, are also fantastic dancers. Anoop is not, and his R/B Soul singing is extremely sub par, compared to Ne-yo and Chris Brown. Most successful R/B singers are pleasant to the eyes and Anoop is lacking in that department, plus not understanding the true meaning of R/B and Soul.
Kara was completely correct when she stated that Anoop was probably coaxed by his ‘frat boy’ friends to sing Usher’s “Caught Up” because basically that is what Anoop is, a well off frat boy who sings in some sort of frat boy singing group at UNC. Anoop could not even handle the constructive criticism when the judges advised him on how to improve his performance. He became extremely disgusted and he displayed an arrogance that was not pretty to see. It was like no one has ever told Anoop the truth before that he would never, ever be a heavy duty R/B singer in the music business. When Anoop said he was going to establish himself as an “R/B artist” I almost spit up my Coke with laughter and wondered if Anoop really heard himself or watched his performances he would certainly give up that ludicrous idea right there and then, but I guess being an only child of two elderly parents no one has ever told Anoop anything that would upset him. That is until the judges told him the truth in front of millions of viewers. His face could not hide the disgust of someone daring to tell him the truth. Well I for one am glad that someone finally had the guts to tell Anoop the truth. Many International voters don’t understand the dynamics of the United States music market, especially in the R/B genre. In the United States R/B has a “street”, “urban” feel and sound to it. To be successful in R/B in the States you have to have ‘street cred’ to pull it off. Frankly Anoop does not have that and would find it difficult to pull if off in the R/B genre.
As for those International Anoop Desai voters who plan on cheating to advance Anoop to the next round, you are only making the idea of Anoop being an “R/B artist” more of a joke.
So I suggest to the International Troopers who plan on cheating in large groups to you use your money for better things then advancing Anoop any further by underhanded ways. Use that money for the betterment of the world, and not to cheat on some American TV show. If Anoop advances and replaces more talented singers in the competition there would only be adverse and negative feelings towards him and many people would be turned off, especially if viewers of Idol overseas are using underhanded methods and displaying them under Google Blogs for the world to see.
One thing we viewers of American Idol hate more than a bad singer are people who cheat.
